The McKoy family builds a grocery and boarding house near the Depot. Upstairs, the wide hallways were made to fit the large steamer trunks that travelers set out at night for the morning train porter.
Black Mountain holds its first town hall meeting in the basement. That's the floor Black Mountain Escape calls home!
With the building scheduled for demolition, Joe Tyson steps in and saves it by having it recognized as historically significant.
The Brooks family acquires the building in December 2014 and names it The Junction. The first floor is home to Que Sera Restaurant, and the upstairs contains office and meeting space.
Founded by Jon Brooks and AJ Stewart, Black Mountain Escape opens in the basement.
